Distraction

Here is the narrative that Julia read this morning in the service.
You can feel free to copy it and send it wherever.
Time to take a nap.

DISTRACTION
One day, Satan met up with one of his main demons. This particular demon was in charge of tormenting and distracting a person who was committed to follow their enemy, Jesus.

The demon inquired of Satan, “Master, I know our goal. I want to keep the human from seeing his full potential. I must convince him that he is a defeated foe. I want to steal, kill, and destroy. I have attempted some of my best tactics only to find him more committed to our enemy.”

“What have you done to this point,” inquired Satan.

“First, we attacked his family. His wife lost his job. His daughter became so sick she had to go to the hospital. To top it off, well, let’s just say he doesn’t have a pet dog any more (thanks to the tennis ball in the road trick). We did this all in the matter of 2 weeks.”

Satan laughed. “I love it when we pour it on. How did he respond?”

“Horribly,” replied the demon. “Rather than getting angry at our enemy, the human ran to Him. He is more committed than ever.”

“They often do that,” Satan said in disgust. “If we come with the trials and the misfortune, they decide to draw strength from someone bigger than themselves. Our enemy thrives in trials. He is sought more than ever…”

“What if I tried this?” chimed in the demon. “I could get my friends together, and intensify the attack. When he’s all alone, hover around so he can sense we’re there. At night, whisper nightmares into his ears. We could even throw a few supernatural moves like slamming some doors in the house… anything to make him know that we’re after him. We could paralyze him with fear.”

His master replied, “No, no, no. If he knows we’re after him, he may catch on to the fact that he plays a significant role in our enemies cause. If he discovers the power he can find in the enemy, then we’ll surely be defeated with this human and his friends.”

The demon threw up his arms in frustration, “Then what do I do? What is my tactic?”

Satan paused. “Subtle Distraction!” he said with a smile.

“Subtle Distraction?”

“Yes, subtle distraction. The problem right now is that the human is focused on the enemy. We must subtly get his on something else.
Affirmation.
Acceptance.
Work.
Status.
Entertainment.
Wealth.
Convince him that his life is incomplete.
Get him in little arguments with those who are helping him in his devotion to the enemy.
Find ways to fill his schedule with the meaningless.
Overwhelm him with everyday issues.
If we can keep his eyes off the enemy, yet make sure he thinks everything is fine, then we’ve got him right where we want him. IT WORKS EVERY TIME….”

I read this at our student ministry staff meeting today. This is powerful stuff my friend.
Our receptionist's son hung himself Sunday.
John's dad left his mom and she just filed for divorce after 30 years.
One of our former employees has literally seduced another employee's husband-the divorce is final and she is shacking up with him-in front of her 2 kids.
God is on the move-and somebody is scared, because it's all hitting at once.

Thanks for sharing this...
