It's been a while since I posted some Youtube Videos. Today is a music edition of a band I've been listening to quite a bit. Gungor's Liturgical post-rock has me completely hooked.
About Gungor:
The Earth is Yours in a Forest (the album version is one of Katylynn's favorite songs. It's awesome to watch her dance and sing the chorus)
White Man (fairly controversial, I guess, but extremely Biblical, I'd say):
You Have Me (a great prayer)

Youtubesday: Rhett and Link
It's almost guaranteed these guys will make me laugh when I watch their videos.
This is some great advice for the Social Media conscious single guys out there:
This had me grabbing me stomach and almost in tears. There's something about guys laughing at what their own attempts at comedy that gets me laughing.

Youtubesday: Best Super Bowl commercials
Brilliant and creative:
Hilarious:
By no means an endorsement of the product, but this cracked me up too:
Laughed again:
I found this one to be fascinating and, dare I say, artistic. It made me stop and watch.

Youtubesday: What is the Internet Anyway?
This is from 1994 on the Today Show. I bet Bryant Gumbel and Katie Couric wouldn't mind if this went away...

Youtubesday: Mad Movie Wednesday
We have 2 High School students who are doing an internship with us from the school. As a part of their internship, they have been put in charge of doing Wednesday announcements. As a part of that, they have done "spoofs" of various films and utilizing them to tell our announcements. This one they did was incredibly creative...

Youtubesday: Ghosting
I spent yesterday with a group of youth workers helping brainstorm for CDYC (Central District Youth Conference) that I will be speaking at this Summer. Much of the time was spent talking creative elements and session layout. One of the more enjoyable aspects is looking to popular Youtube videos or those that are just hilarious.
There I was introduced to Hamish and Andy, and their new sport ghosting. Both videos take about 3 minutes worth of setup before actually showing the sport, but they are well worth the setup.

Youtubesday: 46 Million Views
I find it ridiculous that this video has nearly 47 Million views, putting it in the top 50 all-time viewed videos on Youtube, but then again, if Katylynn were able to browse the web, she would be personally responsible for 1 million views...

YouThurbsday - A Special edition
This is floating around blog world (Terry Linhart and Rob Henschen to name 2). OKGO has done it again. The makers of my personal favorite Youtube video (Here it Goes Again music video... almost 50 million views), OK GO has their newest music video up... a nonstop shot of the biggest, baddest rube goldberg machine ever created.

Youtubesday: Fight the Stereotypes
At the SYMC Conference, this music video was revealed. A painfully honest (and really funny) commentary on youth ministers.
Confession: I need to go clean my car. I'm definitely feeding stereotype #1.

Youtubesday: My Crying Wife
So, say you're a husband with a wife who is prone to excessive emotion after watching movies... what do you do? Video tape her and put it up on youtube.
Now, before you get too upset with this husband, check out his disclaimer:
Disclaimer: She knows these are on YouTube. She's secure enough to cry like this after a movie and laugh at herself later. She thinks these videos are funnier than I do. Go to http://cryingwife.com and check the FAQ.
Now, enjoy a few:

Youtubesday: Josh Wilson
I received an email from a Christian artist booking agency telling the recent story of Josh Wilson at the Newark airport. Here's an excerpt:
It's been a very interesting week for Josh Wilson. What began as a very innocent attempt at breaking tension in a stressful situation has become an internet sensation. I'm attaching a link to the story of Josh serenading the passengers at Newark airport in the wake of the a security scare - http://withoutwax.tv/2010/01/07/its-easier-to-act-than-react/ .
The video has exploded on the internet, and is now also showing up on CNN, on ABC World News, and quite possibly on your local news broadcast. What potentially makes it better is that Josh is largely unaware of all this attention, as he's with his wife in India sharing the gospel and serving the poor. He'll have quite a surprise waiting for him when he gets home next week.
I love it. Josh came in and led worship for our Junior High at the 2008 3DYC. He's an extremely talented musician who deeply loves God. Check out his moment of relieving the tension in this video:
