"The devil is in the details."
I've heard this quote many times. Never quite understood it when people use it.
I would like to propose that the devil loves to attack in the details.
When taking 150 14-18 year old on 4 busses to Sandusky, OH for 5 days, there are a lot of "details" to stay on top of. When setting up a 4 member worship band in a tent, there are all kinds of potential technical glitches. These "details", often intended to enhance the experience, can serve as real distractions when gone wrong.
Would you join me in praying for all those little details?
Set up (10 individuals heading down early Sunday)
Travel (4 buses and a Ryder truck, no breakdown, safe travel)
Weather (a lot happens outside)
Sound & Lighting Equipment
Meals (4 cooks feeding all 188 in a less than adequate kitchen)
Health (Students can get sunburnt, dehydrated, poor sleep, etc.)
Safety (Injury free activities)
Time effectiveness (getting students gathered at amusement parks, kids get right places at right times)
Our goal is not that everything is done right, but these details won't get in the way of the right thing... which is a move of God in the lives of those involved.
