A Class Act

I just finished watching the Denver/ San Diego game. Not a huge fan of either team, but I just love watching NFL football.

Ladanian Tomlinson set 4 NFL records in this game. He's the fastest to ever reach 100 TDs, and he scored 4 TDs for the second straight game.

As I watched an interview with him for the second week in a row, I was struck by a few things:
  1. They showed replays of a few of his touchdowns. No major celebrations. I thought of what John Madden said as LT scored his fourth tonight, "You know, rookies could learn a thing or two from Tomlinson when he scores. He scores and hands over the ball. He acts like he's done what he's where he's supposed to be. He's been there before. He'll be there again."
  2. As he was asked about his accomplishments, he was quick to give credit to his teammates... specifically his O-line, and the offensive coordinator... two who rarely receive credit.
  3. He continually said "we"... not "I".
  4. He came across like he genuinely loves the game, what he does, he's still a little in awe of what he's involved in; yet he still acts professionally.
How often are we quick to give thanks and credit to the ones who help us get where we are?
How quick are we to look at "we" over "I"?
How are we viewing what we're involved in?

I despise the moments LT lines up across from my beloved Colts, but I gotta respect the guy.
