25 Thoughts on Christmas: Thoought #13... Traditions

Everybody has them...
  1. My mom and dad bake a birthday cake for Jesus. We sing Happy Birthday to Jesus as a way to celebrate the birth of our Savior.
  2. At my in-laws, we eat breakfast together. Before breakfast we read the account of the birth story from Luke.
  3. At my Grandparents (mom's side), someone in the family reads the story "The Christmas Guest", and then everyone gets a candle. 1 by 1, we light our candle and share what has happened in our lives over the past year.
  4. At my other grandparents (dad's side, both have been gone for 5 years) we would decorate Christmas cookies.
I'm one to push that we need to be sure to keep Jesus in the picture at Christmas time; but I am very appreciative of family, and this season is a great time to spend and enjoy some "traditions" together.
