We're underway

Session #1 is in the can.
NMC students got here with no problems.

Session 1: Summary

The opening session is a little like a first date... it's a little awkward at first. You're trying to get to know you're date. You're feeling out the environment. In the same way, the first session is a lot about getting to know the speaker and the worship leader. The songs are bound to be new to many in the room. BUT, saying all that, this was one of the best first sessions in the Senior High since I've been involved. Our theme this year is "BE..." taking time to focuse in our are character in christ (who we are) over our actions for Christ (what we do). In each session, we zero in on one specific BE.

The focus this session was BE HERE.
We could be many places right now even though we are physically here. The challenge was thrown out to truly BE HERE. Push the pause button on the things that are THERE. Tim Elmore talked about the times where we miss God because we weren't ready to BE HERE. Tim is a top-notch communicator, and I could just sense that the room was tracking.


Jr. High - Chris tells me that it was a great start. Jay Laffoon challenged the students in the same manner. In talking with one of our Junior High students after the session, and he was able to clearly communicate what he had learned.

Be praying that students will be able to truly be here and engage in what God has in store for them!
