Tomorrow afternoon, Janelle and I head out to California for a some vacation time.
In the time gone, it's all about rest, replenishing my soul, and investing in my two most important relationships, my savior and my wife. This will involve unplugging the cell phone, e-mail, and yes, even the blog.
I'm on a two-week blogcation.
But, oh blog readers, I leave you with much to enjoy.
I have written much about The Maasai Project that our Senior High Ministry is coming behind.
The burden, passion, and vision of Caleb Bislow is inspiring.
It was a trip Caleb took to the Great Rift Valley in East Africa in 2005 that has brought us to this point. From this trip, he made a video documentary which is in the posts below (in three parts, each around 9 minutes).
Take some time to watch these videos over these next couple of weeks.
Then check out Caleb's website and the info on The Maasai Project here.
Then tell your friends about these videos.
On January 31, our Senior High will be sponsoring "Maasai Night" where they will be seeking to raise awareness, prayer support, and financial support for the upcoming trip Caleb .
We will be having a "Talent show" on this night where there will be a suggested cover charge of $1 or a watch. Students will be preparing baked goods to be sold. They will also be donating and rounding up various things to be sold through a silent auction.
Already donated are:
- A Dallas Clarke autographed Football.
- A Lady's package including a session at a day spa.
- A Tickle Me Elmo THX.
- An award winning ceramic sculpture.
- Various paintings.
- Rumors are running rampant of potential Notre Dame Autographed paraphenalia.
Caleb is the real deal. I have a deep respect for him, and I trust him. If you watch and check out the site, and the burden remains, I encourage you to do something about it. The link to Caleb's site contains the info you need if you are interested in supporting the Maasai Project.
