As mentioned in previous posts, the Wednesday before Spring Break can be a bit insane and feel quite uneventful. The students who choose to attend are so wired the most you can hope for is about 10 minutes of corporate focus.
Last Night was a nice surprise.
- Started the night off with 7 minutes of nonsense from Dustin Eby and Andrew Berkey. A little narrative on a Eby's adventure with a Bean. Some good laughs.
- We had about 40 t-shirts collected from various events. We played a little game to give several of them away, then threw the rest out. Great energy.
- Made a phone call to Caleb Bislow to have him share about his recent trip with The Maasai Project. Some technical difficulties, but the kids were locked in.
- A little worship time centered on God's Love, including some corporate scripture reading (something we don't do very often). You could see it settling in.
- A panel of four (the tom, Berkey, Jeremiah Lauber, and yours truly) each share one moment where we truly saw God's love. The power of story is always worth paying attention to.
- After the panel of four, we threw it out to the students to share in a quick sentence or statement where they have experienced God's love. About 20 students shared with the group. Awesome time of celebrating God together.
- Closed with a little challenge to the students. "Take a break from school. Take a break from the busyness. Take a break from the drama. BUT DON'T YOU DARE TAKE A BREAK FROM GOD." Blunt and harsh, but we were there.
