A few thousand words on last night

Last night was a little different as far as Wednesdays go.

Our 9th and 10th grade Small Groups had their last night together...This is Bethany's Small Group. You might remember that Bethany was in an accident last week. She's making great progress.

A few weeks ago, two students approached with an idea. They wanted to do a very unique night full of experiential worship elements. I loved their vision and enthusiasm for the night. So I gave them free reign to pull this night off with our 11th and 12th graders. The Tom played the role of "if you have any questions, come to me".
They called the night "Simply Awkward". There were various stations where students could go to pray, worship, spend time in the word, listen to God. It was a great setup. It was an awesome night. I was very proud of Andrew and Dustin and their efforts put into the night.

I got to walk into controlled chaos last night. I hung out with our Jr. High. We talked about Compassion. We defined Compassion as "Taking a walk around in someone else's shoes". We watched The Sandlot, one of the greatest movies ever.

So, the shirt... we're kicking off a 5-week church-wide series that I think is going to be a watershed moment for NMC. I believe we will be seeing a movement of individuals stepping out from the sidelines and into the game of seeing the Kingdom here and now.
