Just got off the phone with Allison. They just ate breakfast and had some TAWG. She said the kids got sleep last night. Not the most comfortable, but they did sleep.
Yesterday was spent scoping out the remaining three sites we will ministering at over the week. Here are the five sites we will be going to…
Sunday Afternoon: Washington Square Park… wrote about it yesterday.
Monday Afternoon: Bryant Park/ NY Library… This site, about 2 blocks south of Rockefeller Center (Today Show/ NBC Studios) is the “chair and table” site. There is an open grassy area that is surrounded by hundreds of wooden folding chairs and tables. There is also a chess/backgammon/ checkers area, and a place to play bocce ball. This will be a great site to get into conversations with people.
Tuesday Afternoon: Battery City Park… This site is along the waterfront right near Ground Zero. It is a very long walkway that looks out at the Hudson toward New Jersey. There’s a great view of the Statue of Liberty. This area is mainly concrete and waterfront, but full of park benches and areas where people will be.
Wednesday Afternoon: Central Park 72nd Street Entrance… This is right by Strawberry Fields, which is the area of Central Park that Yoko Ono donated 1 million dollars to be developed in honor of John Lennon. The apartment complex where Lennon was shot is right by the entrance to Central Park. The Park is ENOURMOUS and has an incredibly peaceful feel to it. It has plenty of people just taking time to relax and enjoy God’s creation.
Thursday Afternoon: Union Square Park… Wrote about it yesterday.
All sites are actually on the Manhattan Island. We will likely get a chance to head over to Brooklyn on Sunday Evening (more on that later). All these sites will give us great exposure to the city, and they will also allow us to interact with many people from many backgrounds and beliefs. Be praying that God will guide us.
Here’s how this afternoon will work..
Between 1:00-3:00 – Team arrives, unload get checked in relax/ shower.
4:30 – Head to Times Square, Eat Supper
7:00 – Opening Session at Calvary Baptist Church
9:30 – Group time on the 18th floor of Hotel Pennsylvania
11:00 – Nighty-Night.

Derry,
God's up to something! Stay very spiritually sensitive and expect an out of the ordinary brokenness from a remnant of the group.
IMPACT = Prayer
NYGO = Broken Compassion
Summer Camp = praying for repentance and freedom
That equation could bring authentic revival / outreach back to the schools that represent NMC. Our students have to begin looking beyond themselves. Even our Christianity praxis seems to be what it does for us versus how it should reflect Jesus and effect others.
Anyway, I'm confident this trip will revitalize your own personal journey and am internally excited for your next six days.
Terry
Wow,I am not even going to try to say anything important after what Terry gave you! Just "Amen"!
I am also excited about what I am watching God start to do in our midst! Glad I get to be a part of something bigger than myself. God is so good.
Godspeed to the team!
Cindi
