I really want to be hip and with the times (though by using such a locution I probably render myself unfit for membership in the club), but I still would like to see a carefully articulated philosophy of blogging.
While I was on my blogcation over the lake, I spent a significant amount of time journaling the old fashioned way. One of my extended journal sessions was actually spent formulating, and thinking through the "why" of my blog. So, over the next few days, I'm going to be sharing my philosophy of blogging.
Before divining into part one, a few items to note...
- There are many types of blogs out there. My journaling time started on focusing on my blog, which is a personal blog... meaning it is written from the perspective of one person's life. Much of my "philosophy" will not apply to blogs that involve groups of writers or serve more as "ministry blog sites" (Our Senior High Blog, for example).
- This is more of a stab at a personal philosophy than one for everyone. If you are a blogkeeper and you find your philosophy of blogging to be different, more power to you.
- Jim is looking for a carefully articulated philosophy of blogging... I cannot guarantee "carefully articulated".
