Andrew Whitehead graduated from NorthWood in 2001. My wife often says that, if she could choose favorites (which of course we never do), that Andrew would have to be her favorite guy to ever go through our ministry. Andrew and I had some great shared moments in High School
He made a significant commitment to Christ his Freshman year on our Spring Break choir tour.
Getting a gun pulled on us in
Walking through some tough family issues with Him, and seeing God break through in amazing ways.
A second trip to the mountains of
Senior year with weekly meetings for breakfast.
Watching him head to Purdue and fully engage with the Navigators and experience significant growth.
Andrew is one of those kids (not a kid anymore) you are proud to say was a part of your ministry. He and his wife Kelly are currently at
Steve Argue is the Executive Director of the Contextual Learning Center at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary, where he also teaches as an adjunct professor in youth ministry (aka he's smart, and he thinks outside the box). He has been especially beneficial in helping me think theologically about Youth Ministry. If you are in a leadership role in a youth ministry, Steve's thoughts will be challenging and meaningful to you. I've especially enjoyed his "Phrases Youth Ministries Must Resist Using" series.

To think that all these years I actually thought Janelle and I were tight. Come to find out I was just the go-through friend to get to Andrew. Sad, really, but quite revealing.
