Blessed

As we've been preparing for this adoption, we have held off on any major purchases or renovations in the house to prepare for a baby. We were not sure how we would emotionally respond to a nursery that sat empty for an uncertain amount of time.

Upon receiving the news Tuesday, a little shock began to settle in on the absolute lack of readiness of our home for a baby.

At this time Thursday, the only baby oriented item in our house was a baby bathtub... our one purchase in hopes that we could purchase more.

WELL,
Ty Pennington and his crew (a.k.a. our friends the Graversons and Weisses) pulled through yesterday...

Now sitting in our back bedroom...
  • Crib
  • Changing Table
  • Bassinet
  • Bouncer
The second load of baby clothes has been washed are in the dryer.

We received two gift cards from several friends at the church for substantial amounts to Target and and Babies R' Us "just to get us started".

While working, Leslie Yoder dropped off a set of onesies for us.**

Today, we meet up with my sister-in-law and her daughter to grab some essentials to get us going.

Janelle has been the "Baby Shower Queen" over the past 6 years at our church. If somebody close to her has gotten pregnant, she has been the one to plan the shower. At this point, there are about 8 ladies ready to throw the mother of all baby showers (pun intended).

My point? We're blessed. Last night we just talked about the many who have traveled along with us on this journey. They are chomping at the bit to jump in and rejoice with us.

**Side note - When will the day come that it is acceptable for adults to wear onesies? I would love to be able to just hop out of bed, pull on my onesie and head out. Would somebody out there start working on this fashion trend?

Umm, this is the reason why they don't let adults wear onesies.
