Some Tornadic Updates

  • Yesterday, Janelle and I drove through some of the "hit" areas. Although much cleanup and work has taken place, the devastation is still very evident.
  • We had a "Chick Nite" planned for this Saturday... a bi-annual SH Gals hangout event. This chick nite has been changed to a "chick afternoon". The gals will be coming in to compile "hygeine packs" to take out to the Franklin/ Sample Street area and hand out. They will also take some time to care/ listen/ help in whatever way they can.
  • HCRN is set up over in our YMC and coordinating significant relief efforts. If you'd like to volunteer to help, you can do so by going tot he HCRN website here.
  • At 10 am today, 3 area ministries came in to the church to divy up the remaining donations that have come in for tornado victims. At this point, Open Door, FCDC, and Church of God Food Pantry are doing everything possible to get those items donated to those who've suffered loss through the tornado.

I continue to be blown away by the overwhelming outpouring of generosity and compassion by this and surrounding communities!!
