Good Stuff from Wednesday Night

Last Wednesday was Week 2 of "Move In our World."

Week 1 was all about perspective.
Week 2 was all about thinking practically.

First, we took time to pray specifically for those people and situations represented in the statistics we discussed the previous week.

Then watched this video.

Then we took time to consider where we're spending our (or our parents') money...
  • Extra food at school lunch.
  • Clothes.
  • Makeup.
  • Video Games.
  • Gas.
  • Music.
Finally, we looked at some of the opportunities we could come behind and seek to be the Hands and Feet of Jesus.

The students received a sheet of all the different Ministries across the world we are supporting as a part of our "regeneration" series.

Then we looked at the following websites...

www.worldhelp.net—For $30 a month you can provide a chilld providing food, clothing, medical attention and educational opportunities .

www.joshuaproject.net - View unreached people groups and countries, and see how you can best pray for them.

www.invisiblechildren.com - A site devoted to assisting the children of Uganda who are being abducted to become child soldiers.

www.freerice.com - Answer a vocabulary question correctly, donate 10 grains of rice to end world hunger.

www.spreadthesharing.com
- Share a story about a time you shared with someone or someone shared with you, and they donate a meal to a family in need… up to 1 million meals.

www.calebbislow.com - See how you can continue to be involved in The Maasai Project, an effort to share God’s story with a tribe halfway around the world.

Finally, we heard from a few students on how they are seeking to take action to see God move in our world.

  • Kalyn Lantz shared about her experience sponsoring a child through worldhelp.
  • Justin and Corey Easton shared their views on their family's nearing move to Mexico to become full-time Missionaries.
  • Mike Griggs shared how he and his buddy get together every Monday evening, and find a way to serve and bless someone.
  • Dustin Eby invited as many students as wished to begin dreaming and planning a Wednesday Night in February devoted to raising awareness and funds for certain ministries.
Lot's of students talking and dreaming afterwards.
Good stuff!
