“It’s Time”

There were two people
A man and his wife
They married and promised
To stay together for life
They wanted a child
To bring them much joy
They didn’t even care if
It was a girl or a boy

But God said, “It’s not time….”


Through many years they tried
But they could not give birth
To the baby that they wished for
More than anything on earth
They prayed and they hoped
They worked and they planned
They were sad and they cried
For they could not understand

But God said, “It’s still not time…”

Then an angel came to God
And said, “I’ve got one!
She’ll be here quite soon
And she needs someone!”
And God said, “Well, I know
Of two,” as He smiled,
“That have made me quite proud
With the love they show to everyone’s child!”

“They have served me for years
Though the doubts often came
But they never wavered
And kept praising My name
So I will give them this girl
To raise for their own
To return back to them
Some of My love that they’ve shown!”

“So this is My gift to you
Derry & Janelle
Raise this child in My image
So in her heart I may dwell!”

And on November 8th, 2007, God said, “It’s time!!”
