Just got done shoveling the driveway. One of my favorite aspects of our house is the 2 single car garage and wide driveway. It's great to park both our cars inside for the night. It's great to have room for 6-8 cars to park on our property on a given night. It's great to have both cars protected from getting covered in snow. The problem is that the drive still gets covered in snow.
We have a snowblower.
It turns on half the time.
If the snow is too packed or thick, it doesn't work.
Today, it wouldn't turn on. As I moved to the shovel, I realized it wouldn't have mattered if it did.
The snow looks absolutely beautiful, and my first 15 minutes of shoveling were quite exhilirating.
The last 45 minutes were a test of what a cold, snowy hell might be. I had to type this entire post with my right hand because my left arm has gone completely numb.
I'm staying in my house and drinking hot chocolate for the rest of the day.

okay, i just had to comment on this. too funny! my roommate and i spent over an hour digging ourselves out. thankfully, there were two of us. my favorite part was shoveling and feeling like i was making progress just to look up for a moment to see a snow plow come and bury us back in. good times! but it is always nice to turn five again and run throughout the yard ;).
