Top 2007 - Two types of people

There are two types of people in this world.

Those who thought Bourne Ultimatum was the best movie this year, or those who are wrong.

The movie was predictable and Bourne was the bad guy!!!

Classic movie of "Good guy" falling into peer pressure...haha, what does that teach the youth of today! Bourne should take more responsibility for his own actions.

Die Hard 4 was way better.

So Phil, by posting your comment, you have admitted that you are under the second category, and therefore are wrong!
Thanks for your thoughts (insert maniacal laugh here).

What about those who have not seen and, therefore, have no basis for opinion (though are certainly skeptical) about whether the Bourne Ultimatum was the best movie of the year?

Are we not people, too?!?!

Hmm... I'm gonna have to agree with Mr. Strahm on this one. Right now I envision a crowd of people chanting "OVER-RATED!!" You've seen one of the trilogy, you've seen them all.

I put quotes around "good guy" b/c simple minded people (most who "love" the bourne movies) think he is supposed to be the good guy and are either to stubborn or dumb to admit he is not.

Thanks to jeff simpson for supporting my claim.

Did I just call Derry stubborn or dumb????? haha

I'll stick with my reluctant hero who blows up everything, John McClane, for my thrillers.

So Jeff and Phil are both wrong...
jdp is doesn't exist...
Any other votes?

Clearly anyone who thinks that both Phil and I are wrong, is definitely wrong.

Jason Bourne -- a character seeking redemption from his dark past.

John McLane -- "Yippee ki yay..."

I'll let you go and finish that statement Phil...

You're right, Jason Bourne is a horrible example to today's youth.

Die Hard 4 was atrocious. He's on the back of a crashing fighter jet and manages to jump off and slide to safety!!!!! Are you kidding me? All action movies go over the top at some point, but Die Hard 4 didn't even try to stay within the bounds of make-believe. So bad. Bourne was definitely better, but I'm not sure if it was the best.

I want to be Jason Bourne!

Derry, I'm with you!

Derry...I think I remember you posting DIE HARD in your top 5 Christmas movies....which is rated R.

Live free or Die Hard...PG-13.

Instead of worrying about the past (Jason Bourne), McClane takes care of the present!!! And frankly, has a better sense of humor!!!

Phil Strahm said...

ps...jumping off a jet was a LOT less distance than from the TOP OF A SKYSCRAPER!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, that point made by "andrew" actually hurts the claim of Bourne being a better movie!!!!

Keep in mind the airplane was quickly spinning to it's demise and he rode it out. Also, he didn't merely jump a few feet to safety, like landing in a field of heather and shame, he jumped, landed on a CONCRETE slab that sat at a 80 degree angle and he slid all the way down and merely accumulated a scratch. Then there is also the scene where he ramped a car up a divider into a helicopter. Now, I'm no physicist, but dividers usually stop cars, not eject them 25 feet into the air. I could keep going, but I don't want embarrass all you Die Hard fans. Now, I will say, the first one, pretty good. Almost a classic. But number 4 was not worth the dollar I spent. Ok. That's it.
