Less and less cool points daily

Last night was a "guys night out" with my pals Dan, Craig, and Marty. We went to Wings, etc. and then bowling. It was a good and long overdue time together with the fellas.

Unfortunately, as I reflect back on our time, it was only more confirmation of the fact that we're aging and have lost our coolness. Several snapshots...
  • I couldn't get over to Dan's for departure until 7 p.m. There was discussion whether or not this was too late a start for the night. In College, 7 p.m. was the time we would start making plans for that night.
  • Our drive to Wings, etc. consisted of some discussion over my minivan purchase. Enough said on that one.
  • After the meal, more than one of us could be seen checking our cell phones to make sure our spouse and kids were okay.
  • Upon entry to the bowling ally, we took the average age of the room up significantly.
  • While bowling, one of the guys (I won't name him) started telling us how his shoulder has started aching in the morning. Yes, we were sitting there talking about our aching joints and muscles.
All that said, it was a great time. A great time. I look forward to a time where I can hang out with these guys and gripe about Social Security ask each other about how "regular" we are!

Further questions for clarification on your "cool points":

(1) Did you institute the "no napkins until finished with wings" rule?

(2) Did you order at least one "wall wing" per person?

If the answer to (1) and (2) are no, go ahead and deduct a couple more points. On the other hand, the fact that you are still doing "guys night out" over a decade after the Oakwood days shows that you still have some coolness left in your bones.

No go listen to FIF "Upbeats and Beatdowns" and you'll feel your coolness being revived in no time.

Don't forget that at least two of those old guys put up some pretty good bowling scores!

By the way, my wrist hurt the next morning! But that's OK because I had the hook working Friday night!
