The past week has held a lot of firsts for Katylynn...
- Her first Road Trip (she rocked it).
- Her first Night away from home (didn't bother her one bit).
- Her first time eating "solid" food (not quite as smooth as the previous two).
- Her first time rolling from her back to stomach on her own!
- And the big Announcement, her first visit to the courthouse.
This morning we drove from Ludington to the Allen County Court House in Fort Wayne for Katylynn's adoption hearing. You may be saying, "Whaaa?" Well, Katylynn had to be in under our care for a period of approximately 6 months before the adoption could be finalized. During that time, there needed to be multiple home visits from a social worker. For all practical purposes, the adoption was final the moment we brought Katylynn home from the hospital.
Today, it basically became irreversible. Final. We've been calling her Katylynn Ivy Prenkert for the past 5 months, but the government still knew her by the name given by her birth mother. Today, she is officially Katylynn Ivy Prenkert by any and all.

How awesome, a name change because she is officially in your family. Kind of like the picture of becoming a child of God.
Congrats brother.
