Questions I Often Ask... the personal reflection edition

I don't always ask these questions. These aren't the But when it's time for me to stop, evaluate and debrief what's going on inside me, here are 5 questions I'll ask...
  1. What are the megathemes in my life right now?
The goal here is to consider the lessons, people, scripture, discussions, topics that seem to consistently be coming across my path. God speaks through circumstances. As I consider this question, my next thought is why these themes are there.
  2. Do I have something to say, or do I feel like I have to say something?
I live in a world where I'm looked to as a voice. I also like to speak. It can be very tempting to talk for the sake of talking. It can be extremely easy to become so engulfed with dispensing information, insight and wisdom to others, that I'm failing to internalize that which I'm sharing. Unlike Bill Clinton, I want to say, "I did inhale!"
  3. Who/what is in my life that doesn't need to be there?
This isn't necessarily a question that forces me to think who/what I need to get out of my life. This is a question that helps me consider where my priorities need to be, and where they currently are.
  4. Where are my blindspots?
What positives and negatives are present in my life that I am simply missing? As I ask this one to myself, it's often important for me to bring in the thoughts of others.
  5. Who's speaking the last 10% to me? What are they saying?
I've gotta allow people to lean into me. I don't like it, so I have to make sure it's happening. Then, I've got to consider what I'm going to do with that challenge.

Really like where this series of posts is going....I'm not usually intentionally that introspective, but I should be....

One question: Was that an example, or did you just admit to smokin' some weed? ;^)
