Wednesday Night 1:11 a.m.

I just sent the message notes to Dan so he can make the slides and notes for the bulletin. The normal deadline for this stuff on a Sunday message is Thursday noon

For me, this is some tricky timing:

• Thursday is my normal day off.
• I tend not to struggle for clarity for Sunday when Wednesday Night is looming.
• In my communication style, a lot of my illustrative material has to be in place in order to get the notes and slide info in.

The best formula I've found is to go hard as long as I can on Wednesday until I'm done or can't go any further. Fortunately, tonight, I feel like God brought 10 minutes of clarity after about 2 hours of not-so-much clarity. Now, I sleep on it, spend a day trying not to think about it, then come back on Friday and polish, cut, add, and adjust.

In the end, I'm trusting Christ for a powerful truth encounter with Him.
