After getting home from work today, Janelle, Katylynn and I went out on a bike ride.
It was kind of a high strung day at the church. Not any major problems, crises, or drama... just a lot of stuff going on. Transitioning to Summer, interns getting acclimated, catching up from a Monday off... that kind of stuff.
So, the bike ride hit the spot.
Exercise.
Outside.
The two ladies I love the most.
Talking and laughing.
As I find myself relaxed while watching the Cubs this evening, I'm reminded of the value of unwinding after a day at the church.
Doug Fields (Youth guru from Saddleback Church) calls it his "Diet Pepsi time". On the way home from work, he often stops at Taco Bell, buys a Diet Coke, sits down at Taco Bell by himself, and drinks it. He simply takes the time to unwind.
