Cedar Point memories

It was another great day at Cedar Point. At Camp, we seek to make sure everything we do has purpose. We want everything to go directly back to our 4 goals. Our day at Cedar Point actually allows for all 4 goals to be accomplished.

I don't really see the value of Cedar Point in the rides. I see the value in the hour wait for the rides. We break our day into three sections...

12:00-4:00 Ride around in groups, they must be at least 10 and they must have a leader (the leader isn't there for chaperone purchases nearly as much as for interaction purposes)

4:00-7:45 Ride by grades/ NLF. Everybody goes around together.

7:45-Close Everybody rides together. You haven't done Cedar Point right until you've gone on a roller coaster with your 170 closest frieds.

As an added bonus this year, we took an idea from youtube. The group IMPROV EVERYWHERE did a five minute freeze in Grand Central Station...

Our entire group did this in an open area near the Gemini. I caubht a little video, but it doesn't give what happened any justice (i'll see if I can get it up later). It was absolutely incredible! The kids nailed it. Onlookers were shocked, confused, amused, intrigued, and entertained. Some stopped dead in their tracks. Some in line for the Gemini actually got off the ride to see what was happening. When they unfroze, the onlookers broke into applause! It was simply amazing! One of those "moments" students will not soon forget.

From there, we went on three Roller Coasters together as an entire group. The lines were rockin'. People were having a blast laughing and spending time together. The students energy was absolutely contagious. Many of the Cedar Point staff commented on what a cool group of students we had. Some even asked where our church was simply because they were interested in possibly coming some time. Awesome times!
