Some Further Explanations

Fleshing out some statements from my previous post of words and statements to sum up my time away...

Barefoot - There's just something for me that allows me to unplug when I take my shoes off. I'm at my most comfortable when my feet are free. I hate sleeping with socks on. I actually sleep my best when my feet stick out from the sheets. When I'm flying, I have to take my shoes off or I go crazy.
I did my best to stay barefoot as much as possible at the lake. There was something very therapeutic about it. Therapeutic for my soul that is... my feet were ganked up beyond belief by the end of the week (but oh so worth it).

Rocking my Daughter to Sleep - Katylynn is everywhere when she's awake. When it comes time for bed, even if she's tired, she has to get calmed down or she will go crazy crying when we put her in bed for the night. Janelle had developed a little pattern when I was at Camp where she just sits in the dark and silently rocks her. Most every night while gone, I took this role on. Those nightly 15-20 minutes were likely the highlight of my time... especially those closing moments when she would let her little head rest on my shoulder and neck.
We've decided that this is going to be the nightly ritual... a time where my daughter can know that she has a daddy who she can rest on... a daddy who loves her beyond belief, and will be there to care for and protect her. When it's no longer rock her to sleep, it will become sit on my lap while I read to you. When that's out of date, it will be lay in bed while I read to you.

Signs under the starts - Well Rob, you asked, and you're right, it was a typo. It was supposed to read Signs under the stars. Our hosts this past week were our friends the Yoder's. Their son, Reid and one of his friends set up an outdoor movie experience that was pretty impressive. The house we stayed at is on a peninsula. The guys ran two sheets that were sown together from the balcony and set up a projector with Surround Sound. We watched M. Night Shyamalan's Signs (one of my all-time favorites for its faith-themes) out under the stars. It took the movie to a different level of intensity! There were some boats that even pulled up near the shore to join in the festivities. Very cool stuff.

Speaking of 'further explanations', I thought it was a little strange that you put that fourth item on your list for the whole world to see.

Then I saw a few posts later that it's a book you're reading...
