And God said...

Several have asked me for the stats I closed out with at the end of the message Sunday. I shared these to help illustrate how ENORMOUS the Universe is. That universe came into existence when God spoke (And God said, "Let there be __________, and it was so.")
That same voice that spoke the cosmos into existence is the voice that we have access to. Are we listening?
The Average Elm Tree Produces 6 Million leaves every year.

When creating a web, a spider produces 60 feet of silk in one hour, simultaneously producing special oil on their feet that prevents them from sticking to their web.

The Planet Earth - At the Equator, the earth’s circumference is 24,901.55. Traveling nonstop at 70 mph, it would take 15 days to drive completely around the globe.

Let’s take a little road trip to the sun…93 million miles from earth

Traveling nonstop at 70 mph,

You can take a quick rest-stop at Venus after 42 years.

Another quick rest stop at Mercury after 95 years.

You would finally reach The Sun after 152 years.

Our Sun’s outer temperature is 11,600 degrees Farenheit has an approximate circumference of 2,713,400 miles. You could fit 1,000,000 planet earths in the Sun.

You turn back and travel at 70 mph, after 4,400 years you’ll bust out of our Solar System.

At this point, we can’t talk 70 mph. We have to start talking light years… or the distance light travels in one year. Light travels 86,400 miles in a second. 5,865,696,000,000 in a year.

Our Sun is one of approximately 100 Billion stars in the Milky Way Galaxy.

One of those stars is Pistol, which could fit 1 million sun

s in it, or 1,000,000,000,000 (million million) earths.

The Milky Way is 100,000 light years in D

iameter, 1,000 Light years in depth.

The Milky Way is just one of billions and billions o

f galaxies in this Universe.

Some of those galaxies:

Small Magellanic Cloud (MGC) 200,000 light years away.

Sombrero 28 million Light years away.

Whirlpool Galaxy 31 million Light years away.

And God said, "...," and it was so.

As a New Lifer, I got to see your message today. The part that really resonated with me is what you said about the Genesis passages. How many times does it say, "And God said...and it was so." Anything He speaks into our lives today has the same sureness. "And God speaks, and it will be so."

It also reminds me of when Jesus speaks in the gospels, especially when He speaks to nature, and nature obeys. It's a great picture of the deity of Jesus.
