I've found myself saying NO quite a bit lately.
- We are a non-profit ministry that is doing a community event in October and are looking for volunteers. Would your students be interested in getting involved?
- We are a Christian Rock band who is coming into the area and we're looking for a youth group we could play at on Wednesday before our Friday concert.
- Would you be available to start meeting Tuesdays at 10:00?
- Would you be available to come to our Sunday morning service in October?
- Would you like to upgrade to a large popcorn for 50 cents more?
I'm on a bit of a mission. I want to be able to say yes to the GOD THINGS. In order to do that, I will have to say no to the GOOD THINGS. All of the above were GOOD opportunities. In every case, though, they were situations where, after processing through, it was clear that they would not be the BEST.
In the process, there are plenty of SIGNIFICANT opportunities where it looks like a "yes" will be in order. More on those opportunities later...
