Winter Retreat

We're pretty excited about a new trip we're doing with Junior and Senior High this winter. The brochures went out last Thursday, and we gave it a plug in all the services on Sunday.
The NMC Regional Student Ministries Winter Retreat (it's a mouthful) will involve the Junior and Senior High students of Nappanee Missionary Church as well as our two video campuses, New Life Fellowship in Lagrange and Harvest Community Church in Mishawaka.

We were able to secure a time at Spring Hill Camp in Evert, Michigan. If you don't know about this place, it is the premiere Christian Camp and Retreat Center in the midwest (and among the top in the nation).

In some ways, this trip will be a Winter Version of our Summer Camp. At the same time, it is going to have the opportunity to develop a personality of it's own.

Phil,

3DYC is still going. It's an awesome event, well run and very impacting for students. We really love it. As we processed, we have become more and more convinced that 3DYC may not be the right event for NMC.

Here's how we explained it to parents...

Due to the size of our ministry, we place a high value on building community and connectedness with each other on our trips. Although 3DYC is a great event, it has become very hard for us to accomplish this significant purpose among our students. Upon researching options, we believe this option helps us better accomplish this purpose. In addition, this event is able to go a day longer and cost less than 3DYC!
