20 years ago today

I was listening to ESPN radio while on the road, and they mentioned that is was the twentieth anniversary of this sports moment...

I was 12 years old. I remember watching this at our house. My oldest bro had some of his friends over. This probably ranks as the greatest sports moment I remember witnessing on TV.

Also in the hunt...
Keith Smart hit's the shot, Hoosiers win the '87 NCAA Basketball Championship.
Brett Favre Monday Night Football Game after his father's death.
Bartman (painful, but memorable).
Phelps 4 x 100 relay and 100 m butterfly this year.
GW Bush throwing the first pitch at Yankee Stadium in 2001 World Series (just after 9/11).

I couldn't tell you who was at the house that night, but I remember the homerun vividly. I even remember thinking and I even remember saying(though that memory may be unreliable) that we had all just witnessed something historic. Gibson's homerun for me is a clear number one with no close second. A distant second might be Mark Galloway's three pointer at the buzzer to tie the game against host school Northwest Nazarene in the NAIA championship in 1995. Every living soul on Bethel's campus was tuned in to that game. Much smaller scale, and you don't see the replay nearly as often, but unforgettable nonetheless.
