Creativity - Part 2... Is it in you?
Muscles tick me off.
Actually, my muscles tick me off.
In High School, I had a friend with incredibly defined and BIG muscles. He didn't work out that much. He just had them. Strength came easy to him. He could do light workouts, and was able to stay in great shape.
I had another friend who didn't have big or defined muscles, but his Junior year, he started a strict workout program of lifting, diet and exercise. His Senior year, he was B-U-F-F. The ladies took notice of upper body. He went from average joe to super stud.
Me? I was told that I have muscles, and I've chosen to accept that in faith (believing in the unseen). When I worked out, my body would tone and define, but the muscles just didn't grow. I did get stronger though. The weirdest thing is that my calves have always been unusually stronger than the rest of my body. I could leg press equal to the football players, but would bench press equal to the girls track team (there really was a sprinter on the gals track team that could bench press more than me!)
Here's the thing, my friends and I all had muscles. In fact, unless the other guys had a part of his body missing that I didn't know about, we had the exact same number of muscles.
Creativity is like those muscles. It's there in all of us.
For some, it comes a little more naturally.
For others, it takes work.
For some, creativity comes out of the mouth (ideas, problem solving, inspiration).
For others, creativity comes out of the hands (art, construction).
For some it's focused.
For others it's general.
For all, it will strengthen the more we exercise it.
I've been asked, "How do I get more creative?"
I can't give a sure-fired answer, but I can say, you get more creative by practicing creativity.
