A few moments that struck me Today...

While Tom Brokaw was sharing observations this morning, he commented on the several African American leaders he saw being wheeled into place on his wheelchair. He said, "I'm reminded of the old spiritual 'Nobody Knows the Trouble...'" Brokaw trailed off, because he was drawn to tears.

As the president-elect's motorcade pulled from the church and was driving to the White House for Coffee, one of the political historians commented about how every inauguration they are struck with the peaceful transfer of power that is taking place. It gave me pause, and I was reminded that I live one of the few countries where this is very true.

Rick Warren's prayer (see post below).

At one point, the Obama family was standing in front of the crowd, and the youngest Obama daughter was picked up on the microphone saying, "Look at all the people!"

All the people.

I witnessed something extremely significant in American and world history today.
