The story behind this item:

“This giraffe was given to us by Jeremiah and John. They are two Kenyan owners of a curio shop in downtown Nakuru. We have been taking our teams to his shop for over three years. Part of the proceeds from their curio shop help support the ministry for local street kids. During our October trip Jeremiah overheard us talking about the upcoming “Kids In Need” auction at NMC. As we were ready to leave he told me to pick anything from his store as a gift for the auction. When I picked up something small, he said, “No, no. Take something bigger”! Then he asked if I could get this giraffe back in our suitcase. When I told him I probably could, he insisted we take it to put in the auction. It lost an ear in the journey, but I was able to glue it back on. Just wanted you to know the story behind the giraffe!” (from Jamie Lengacher)

Freshman, Benjamin Hoover made this in his High School wood shop class. He could have easily just done a normal project and gotten the grade he needed. Instead, he decided to take it and do something more with it. It's a very nice Shelf... about 4x3 feet, and right now it's selling for much less than it should.
