Top 5 Numbers

In an effort to provide you with some deep thoughts, here are my top 5 numbers:

5. 4 8 15 16 23 42 These numbers are some key to understanding what may be the best TV show ever created.

4. 3 - I'm the third child. I'm a pastor. It's the number of the trinity... many other theologically significant concepts... my lovely wife was born on the 3rd... there's 3 strikes in an out and 3 outs in an inning... and every good message I've ever heard had 3 of something.

3. 24 - It's the number of one of my favorite Switchfoot song, a great (top 5 in my book) TV show, the amount of hours in a day, and was the basketball number of my hero (big brother) growing up.

2. 100 - There's something great about the century mark. Baseball stats, 100th anniversaries, 100 years old. I always have a little sensation run through me when holding a 100 dollar bill.

1. 2 - I've lived a life being #2. I played "the Artful Dodger" in the Jr. High Musical to Mark Landes "Oliver". I was the 2nd best swimmer on the Swim Team, the runner up in every homecoming court I've ever been a part of, I came on at NMC as Terry Bley's 2nd in command. Don't get me wrong, I love being #2 (not to be confused with going #2, which isn't bad either... excuse the potty humor). Finishing 2nd is not the end of the world. Playing 2nd fiddle often makes the 1st fiddle sound better.

Here's to all you #2s out there.
