A Few Commitments...

It's Wednesday.
The Wednesday before our Official Wednesday Night Youth Kickoff. We've taken time to breathe during the Summer months when it comes to our main programming for the ministry.
Summer Ministry is done.
As I sit this morning (kind of morning) and consider the school year that lies ahead, I'm flooded with thoughts and emotions. A mix of excitement and angst. Yet, before I move forward into a new School year I would like to make a few commitments as to how I will operate on Wednesday Nights this year:

I Will Not use numbers as the scale for our ministry's success or failure.
I Will Not allow how a Wednesday night "goes" to be the basis of my own Spiritual Health.
I Will Not allow the job of the Church to get in the way of my own walk with Christ or my marriage.
I Will Not find myself too busy to be there for students prior to or after a Wednesday Night.
I Will Not allow any person to control the show.

I Will seek to limit the amount of A.D.D. moments from the stage.
I Will make sure we have plenty of time to laugh together and enjoy each other.
I Will only challenge students to go where I am willing or have allowed God to take me.
I Will make every effort to see that we are lifting up the name of Christ in all we do.
I Will make sure there is ample opportunity for students to be more than spectators.
I Will be in prayer for every Wednesday Night.
