"Celebration"

This Sunday Night is one of my favorite gatherings at our church. It is our Summer Baptism Celebration out at Wagner's pond.
The word Celebration really jumped out at me this morning. I know of a young gal who is getting baptized this weekend. In talking to her mom, they decided this was worth celebrating. They are going to throw a party at their house. Her friends are coming over, and they are going to celebrate.
They are putting together a booklet of notes from various family members, friends, and mentors.

Amazing how quick we are to party about somebody growing a year older, people being married a year longer, somebody going poopy on the potty seat for the first time, yet we let something like a public confession of faith slide by and just call it a "special ceremony."

I'm ready to CELEBRATE!
