Downwind from Gas City...

During my Bethel College days, my friends and I made a sign for the Bethel/Taylor basketball game that simply said, "Taylor is downwind from Gas City."

I've been at Taylor University since yesterday afternoon. NMC student and soon-to-be Taylor grad Kyle Lantz has invited me to come down and share with two student groups. Last night was with the Spring Break Missions teams. Talked a little about the keys to Conversational Evangelism.
Tonight, I'm with the group of students who will be working with Small Groups during their upcoming Youth Conference.

So, last night, I was a college student. Some Highlights:
  • Ate at the legendary Ivanhoe's... Upland, Indiana's claim to fame. It lived up to the hype.
  • Went to intramural basketball game.
  • Went to the K gas station to buy a 59 cent Polar Pop.
  • TOTAL COLLEGE MOMENT - Ran to the Mcclure gas station just off I-69 around Midnight. That's whe they throw their leftover donuts into the trash. Kyle's roommate, Moose, then fishes the donuts out for the group of Seniors who sit around sipping coffee, and eating Trash Donuts. I didn't eat a donut, but I enjoyed the conversation.
  • Got back to Taylor around 1 am, and went to Ben Knisley's house to watch 24 (tivo is so cool).
  • Called it a night around 3 am.
  • Went over to IWU at noon to eat lunch with Austin Gerber. IWU has an amazing campus. Their student center could compete with any school in the nation.
  • Swung back over to Upland. On my way passed through the legendary town of Gas City. Had to snap this picture of the Gas City Library.
Reminded that there's something very cool about the idealism, questioning, exploring of the College days. All through above experiences, I could include conversations of Life, Love, and Why? I'm old and a little tired, but loving the time I've had here.

Prenkert,
I tried your link to that Kitten Cannon site. I love it. A little on the creepy side if you are a huge cat fan, but I liked it nonetheless. I nailed one at 1,904 ft.
