Tonight was NMC's V.I.P. Banquet. For the first time since I've been at NMC, we actually put up a message on our church sign. It simply said...
"Volunteers Rock."
And they do. Nearly 600 people came out so we, as the paid staff, could simply say THANKS.
This also served as an opportunity for us to kick off our "LOVE WINS" Series.
A few observations from tonight:
- I serve at the best church in the world.
- Our people "get it."
- I love my teammates.
- I have the best Sr. Pastor in the world.
- The best Volunteers aren't looking for thanks. In fact, when you try to acknowledge them in front of others, they don't really like. I love it, because it proves to me they are in it for the right reason.
- Even though they may not be looking for thanks, it's worth stopping and saying, Thanks.
I'm more committed than ever to get people connected to a ministry where they are pouring back in to the Kingdom. Not because we need it, but because they need it.
