I miss The Tom

Tom Carpentar was with us last year as our Senior High Intern. While here, he became known as "The Tom" and eventually "The."
Currently, Tom's serving with Navigators at West Texas A&M. In the year we spent together, I grew to greatly value and appreciate this guy. He's the real deal... full of integrity, passion, and talent.

Today, he posted about NMC twice on his blog.
One was his thoughts and observations on the prayer stuff happening here.
The second was an open letter to NMC Student Ministries... thanks for the encouragement and challenge THE!

Dear NMC Student Ministries,

Words cannot express how excited and proud I am of you. Through the glimpses I have read online of what is taking place in your midst, I can only conclude that here is a group of high school students soli focused on seeking, knowing and desiring to be in the presence of our Holy God. Keep it up! As I am sure you are discovering, amazing things can happen when we first spend time in prayer with our Heavenly Father.
When you look back at the past revivals that have swept through our nation there is almost always a common theme, people praying. You have already been such an encouragement to me, as well as are challenging me to go deeper in my own prayer life. I wish I could be there with you on this journey of prayer this year, but God has other plans. Know that I am praying for you; that each one of you would become an authentic follower of Jesus Christ and continue the mission of sharing Jesus with your friends, classmates, family and strangers.
I am also praying the heartbeat of The Navigators over you: 2 Timothy 2:2 "You have heard me teach many things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Teach these great truths to trustworthy people who are able to pass them on to others."
So thank you for being available and teachable. Thank you for continuing to be an encouragement to me. I hope to be able to stop by and see you when I am back over Christmas. Until then...keep loving Jesus on the move.

Your Friend,
The Tom
