A Sort of Homecoming

Today was a special treat.

I was born and raised in Wakarusa. I grew up attending Wakarusa Missionary Church. As a part of their "Harvest Home Weekend", I was asked to come and share the message this morning.

This was the first Sunday Morning I was at WMC in 12 years. This was also Katylynn's first Sunday at church.

I am so appreciative of WMC and the significant investment made into my life by them. It was a great time to be there and share on a special Sunday morning.

Derry, We enjoyed your teaching on sunday morning. I have attended WMC for about 35 years...it was the youth group that drew my family here years ago, and it was the people that have kept us here, Pastor Johnson was here at that time and the youth group met in the top of the old Youth Center/Body shop...I can still remember showing up a little late on a wednesday night and standing on the sidewalk out front as the sounds of Praise and worship poured out of all the open windows of the building. A persons heart cannot help but be changed for a lifetime when surrounded by so much love for/of our LORD.
The theme, "Love Wins" is so accurate and so true. It is at the very heart of all we believe.
