• Beaten, whipped, caned.
• Crown of thorns.
• Painful walk to "the skull".
• Nails, spears.
• Pain, death.
• It's a dark day.
• It's not a good day.
• We must go through this Friday first.
• Don't think about Sunday right now.
• Just dwell on the reality of the death that has taken place.
• Love demonstrated through death.
  
• Death for you and me.
• While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
  
• "Surely he was the son of God."
