I Want to Believe

Some of the thoughts I'm having concerning the Presidential election...

I want to believe this ad by John Mccain that was run during the Democratic National Convention was truly from the heart.

I want to believe that Barack Obama's words concerning Governer Palin's family issues were truly from the heart.

I want to believe that the reason the Republican National Convention was scaled down at the beginning was out of genuine concern of the situations taking place New Orleans.

I want to believe that the push for civil political discourse is an authentic change.

I want to believe all this, but in a world of advisers, approval ratings, and political spin, its very hard to see things at face value. There always seems to be a secondary or even thirdary (new word Wednesday!) agenda.

As I ponder this, I think back to my own life. I want to watch my agendas with people. I want them to know that what you see is what you get.

Wow, I thought I was the only pinhead ready to offer you the word 'tertiary,' but I see Jamie beat me to the punch!
