- Take that Tommy Boy! Tom Brady had a tough 2008. He and the Patriots quest for a perfect 2007-08 season came up one game short thanks to Eli Manning and David Tyrie. Mr. Brady also went down for the season with a knee injury on the first week of the 2008-09 season.
- WGA Strike: The Writer's Guild Association went on strike in 2007, and it ended in February of 2008. This strike made for a pretty pathetic season of shows.
- 4 Bucks a Gallon - Gas prices reached insane levels over the Summer.
- Super Gold Man - What Michael Phelps accomplished was pretty amazing.
- Insane Usain - He was so fast he could showboat while crushing the world record.
- Historical President - The U.S. elected their first ever African American president. No matter what you think about his politics, this was a significant moment.
- Viva La Vida - Coldplay released a fantastic album.
- Recession - It hit this county between the eyes. Highest unemployment % in the country.
- Heath Ledger - I was in India when I heard about it. He'd died of an overdose. Sad ending to a shot lived life.
- Movies - The top 5 grossing films were The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Kung Fu Panda, Hancock, and Mama Mia.
