Last night our students heard a report from Kory Lantz concerning the work taking place through KP Transformation. Through our Kids In Need initiative last year and our focus on Teens in Crisis this year, we are seeking to partner with Kory and Ali. As Kory shared over the phone (we called him, put him on speaker phone, and held a mic to it... real high-tech, you know), it was clear that they and the students they are working with in the Keller Park neighborhood are experiencing significant spiritual assault. After hearing his report, we had the students' split into small groups and pray.
Confession: I underestimate the role prayer plays in seeing Spiritual breakthrough. Yet, last night, as I watched 200+ 15-18 year olds pray in earnest (some through tears) for their peers in a close-by neighborhood, it became clear that prayer is often war, and it's an essential weapon in gaining an upper hand on the enemy.
The prayers of students created a beautiful scene last night.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6:12
